Everything is going digital even your money. You can buy a number of things from books to insurance, on net. Thankfully Indian regulators are not behind.Weather you are investor or consumer, you can register your grievances and complaints online and rest would be taken care by regulators.

Here’s a brief on where to go in order to file grievances online.

Investor complaints with SEBI

SEBI is stock market regulator and it has developed SCORES, short for SEBI Complaints Redressal System. You can access this at http://scores.gov.in .You can file complaints against the gamut of entities involved in stock markets, from brokers, depositories, registrars and transfer agents to mutual funds, portfolio managers, and even the stock exchanges themselves. For instance, you can lodge complaints against companies for wrongs such as non-receipt of dividends, bonuses, letter of offer for buybacks, and much more. Any complain for brokers for non-issuing contract notes, timely settlement etc.
You can also blow the whistle on insider trading or price manipulations using this site.

All it requires is for you to register on the site which is free. You must compulsorily provide your email address, address for correspondence and PAN for registration. An email will be sent giving login details which you should use to manage your account on the site and file complaints.

Once a complaint has been filed, its status can be tracked using your account. You can send a reminder if you feel there’s been too long a delay in redressal. SEBI can also request clarifications on any complaint filed, which can be done through the Web site. Supporting documents to your complaint may be uploaded as well.

Insurance complaints with IRDA

IRDA is the insurance regulator in India. For complaints by insurance policyholders, the IRDA has started Integrated Grievance Management System, accessible athttp://irda.gov.in – go to the Grievances section. Under this system, you can either call a toll-free number (155255) or send in an email tocomplaints@irda.gov.in.

Banking complaints with RBI

The procedure to lodge banking complaints is similar to that of insurance, though involving a bit more effort. Go tohttp://rbi.org.in/commonman/English/Scripts/AgainstBank.aspx. The Web site allows complaints against banks and the RBI itself. So, under the ‘Complaints’ section in the website, choose ‘Banks’, then the ‘Banking Ombudsman Scheme’ and finally ‘Addresses of Banking Ombudsman’. Based on your location, choose the email address and send an email with details of the complaint.

It is to be noted that Insurance and banking complaints may be made only if you have already approached the insurer or banker and have not received a satisfactory response, or have been ignored or rejected. A representative such as an advocate cannot file a complaint on your behalf.

Consumer complaints with CORE

Suppose you bought tickets online, cancelled them later and are enduring an endless wait for the promised refunds. Log on to http://core.nic.in. This portal is for the education of the consumer and has facilities similar to the SCORE site to lodge complaints.

The portal is run by the Consumer Online Resource and Empowerment Centre (CORE), a group of 55 consumer organizations and is supported by the Department of Consumer Affairs. Consumer complaints can be filed against all sellers, whether they are for goods or services. Here too, you need to register and create an account in order to register a complaint.

Besides seeking redressal for grievances, you can get doubts clarified, ask for information relating to consumer affairs, and so on through the site. It is not necessary to have first addressed the seller of your grievance. A toll-free number is also provided on the site for lodging complaints.

You can read up on previous judgments, glance at the entities against which complaints have been filed. The CORE group even publishes monthly progress reports, if you are inclined to check.

Opening a PPF Account in SBI Bank

PPF is an effective tool to save tax as well retirement planning tool. Majority people open their PPF account with State Bank of India. Here are the 3 easy steps of opening a PPF account in SBI branch.  The whole process does not take more time if you go prepared with all the documents that are required. The biggest advantage of opening the PPF account with SBI is the online transaction facility you can use to deposit in your PPF account online and dont have to rush to the branch.

3 Steps of Opening a PPF Account in SBI Bank

1) Choose a SBI branch which is authorized to go government business.
Usually all branches of SBI are authorized to do so. However newer and smaller branches may not have this clearance facility. One doesn’t need to have a Saving Bank  account in that branch.

2) Procure and submit PPF account opening form and Identity/address Proofs
It would only 3-5 minutes to fill. Choose a nominee which is compulsory and get a witness signature. Now you have to submit anyone of following Proofs.
·         Passport
·         Pan card
·         Driving license
·         Voter id
·         Ration card
·         Two Passport Size Photographs
Any government issued identity card or address proof should work. Keep originals for proof in hand to simplify the verification if needed. That’s it. The bank should now be able to open the account and it is matter of few minutes.

3) Get PPF Passbook

A pay-in slip needs to be filled and the initial subscription needs to be credited into your account. A passbook similar to a Saving Book passbook will be issued with your photo affixed and the nominee’s name stated.  PPF rules can be found on the back. This is all, your PPF account in SBI is opened now.

How to Link your Online SBI Account to SBI PPF account for Online Transaction
If you have an online SBI account, you can add the PPF account as a third party accountfor transferring money directly. As mentioned above the PPF account can be in any SBI branch. There are no processing charges for doing this transfer. When you do this online for the first time, go to the bank and update your PPF passbook and check if the transaction has occurred correctly. This has to be done since you cannot look at the amount in the PPF account as yet in SBI. This is a major drawback of SBI-PPF (and post office) accounts.
A standing instruction maybe issued from your online account for auto-credit to PPF. There are only 12 credit transaction allowed per year. So take care of this before issuing a standing instruction.

How to Transfer your PPF account from One Bank to Another

·         Go to the branch where you want to transfer your PPF account and deposit an application with your PPF passbook
·         takes 10-15 minutes

How to Submit Proof for Tax
Take photocopy of the PPF passbook updated with all transactions.

Tips to Book Indian Railway Tatkal Ticket Online

Few tips which might increase your chance to get a confirmed Tatkal ticket online:

1. It’s much easier to book tickets on irctc by logging from a foreign county than India as the server load is lesser. So go get a friend who can do this for you when you need it.

2. Download Opera browser. Enable low speed connection while using high speed internet connection. This helps in faster loading of the web pages.

3. Needless to say have good internet speed.

4. Use different ids on the name of your family members and log in from different browsers on the same computer. Yes it’s possible!

5. Sync your time with irctc, you have a higher chance of getting tickets if you successfully log in first few seconds after 8:00 AM

6. Between 8am & 9am you can book only two tickets per IP address. But if you switch off your modem and turn it on again, you will have a new IP address as most service providers use dynamic IP addresses

7. Use auto-fill feature of your browser to fill in all the details in the online forms quickly. Auto-fill is available in all the browsers.

8. The Quick book option is of no use for Tatkal tickets. Irctc has blocked this feature from 8:00 – 9:00 AM.

9. Zero in the trains and make a preference list you want to book tatkal tickets in advance. You should not loose time in looking around for options after 8:00 AM. Chances are you won’t get any

10. If possible use American Express Credit card for payment as the payment happens directly from payment page unlike others (Visa, Mastercard) where you are redirected to a new page for entering Pin Number. This saves you precious little seconds in payment.
And at last homework, practice, patience and diligence is the key to success.
